Debt Relief Grants from the Government

In general, relief grants for ordinary individuals are simply not available. Most often, government assistance with debt relief relates to highly promoted programs supported by the current U.S. President. Certainly, individuals can qualify for government grants if engaged in these special activities. The list of approved activities is similar to those companies and individuals who receive special accommodation from the U.S. Congress. For example, in recent years, a special bill passed both houses to provide only oil companies with additional tax credits and financial support to promote oil drilling in Alaskan National Parks.

Other Federal Grants

Other special programs provide loan guarantees and matching funds for individuals. For example, individuals who provide low-income housing may qualify for relaxed approval standards for SBA loan grantees. When improving existing low income housing, matching funds may be available to complete improvements for compliance with minimum housing standards.
